The Collapse of Bee Hives: Its grave consequences

Dear Friends,

Can you name this Beautiful Creature?

Its back-to-school time! And Dohrea is embarking on her PhD program in Human and Organizational Development. We are very excited. As they say, “Are you ready to become a student?” Dohrea will be sharing with us gems as she goes through this 5-year journey.

So in the spirit of education, allow me to do a little teaching of my own with you. Let me start by offering you a free Therapeutic Foods product for the first five of you who get the right answer. This is a closed book test, so no looking up the definition. I’ll even give you a couple of hints.

Define Entomophily. If if you are drawing a blank, I’ll give you a hint. The picture of the little creature to the right should give you a clue. What is Entomophily? Make a guess.

Here’s another clue for you, my last. What do these plants have in common—buckwheat, apple, alfalfa, cherry, chia, Coffea arabica, brussel sprouts, grapes, cranberry, cocoanut, and amaranth? Think of these plants in relationship to the little creature to the right. What’s your answer? You will find the correct answer at the end of the newsletter. Good luck!

I began the Forward Thinking Newsletter in the Fall of 2008 (all of which are archived on our website’s home page within the Publishing Blog Tab) with the purpose of connecting the dots regarding causes and solutions for the ecological collapse we find ourselves in. I labeled the problem—the De-Evolution of the planet. Specifically, higher forms of life are finding it more difficult to survive as species after species are moving towards extinction.

The cause is our collective misuse/poor-stewardship of our natural resources, our failure to recognize the systemic nature of life. We have severed our relationship to the natural world. We desperately need a worldwide paradigm shift. The solution lies in more of us tuning in to the symbiotic nature of life, all creature big and small, are important.

The good news is that true corrective changes are happening all around us and it is through partnering with these people and organizations that our hope for survival resides, and to whom we dedicate our newsletters. Today, I’ll introduce you to a couple more through clips from their remarkable videos. Enjoy!

Born To Be Wild

The correct answer is:

Entomophily is a form of pollination whereby pollen is distributed by insects. Several insects are reported to be responsible for the pollination (potential or effective) of many plant species, particularly bees, Lepidoptera (e.g., butterflies and moths), wasps, flies, ants and beetles. Clinical Note:

This week we are highlighting our Fructo Borate Complex. The Fructo Borate Complex represents one of our many formulas that has a patent associated with it. The molecule itself, fructo-borate, was created by our European partners, and has tremendous efficacy in supporting healthy bone density, reducing osteoarthritis, selective enhancement of testosterone, DHEA, and Vitamin D blood levels and reduction of CRP (c-reactive protein). Boron in the food chain (avocadoes, prunes, nuts, etc.) is always found bound to carbohydrate.

The Last Quiz Answer:

This beautiful creature is an Atlantic Puffin. There are four species of Puffins and this is the only one that lives in the North Atlantic Ocean. It is also known as the sea parrot.

It is an excellent diver and swimmer. While agile in the water, it is not as graceful in the air and often crash-lands both on the water and on land. It can dive hundreds of feet under the water in pursuit of prey. It catches small fish, crustaceans and mollusks swallowing them while still underwater.

I believe the water and food crises in the Horn of Africa are the direct result of old-fashioned colonial exploitation… Maude Barlow goes to the heart of the matter concerning our starving and unjust world. Maude Barlow has for decades been a leading voice for water sustainability and justice. Here is a summary of her recent talk: Horn of Africa Needs Water Justice.
