The All Encompassing Garlic: What Does It Not Do?

Garlic lowers blood pressure, lowers LDL cholesterol by 10% after two months, and stimulates the immune system by increasing macrophage activity, natural killer cells, and the production of T and B cells. It lowers the duration of upper respiratory infection (Karim, 2016).  

When I read the scientific literature on garlic, I am in total awe: Garlic touches every system in the body, and enacts heroic functions for the immune system, heart and circulation, inflammation, DNA and gene expression (cancer), and the list goes on.

Charron et al. (2015) found that garlic unregulated genes that related to immunity, apoptosis (of cancer cells), xenobiotic metabolism (metabolism of chemicals in the body), inflammation, and more.

I can go on with other articles that show more facets to the garlic than I have anticipated, a true magical herb that is utilized by the body in so many ways. The articles below are detailed and fascinating!
