Rheumatoid Arthritis and Pomegranate Extract
We do not often think of pomegranate for stiff and painful joints, but research indicates it is the perfect food for aching joints.
An excellent randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study on the effects of pomegranate extract on rheumatoid arthritis showed significant results: Improvement of pain, improvement in the number of swollen and tender joints, and better flexibility and ease upon waking up (Ghavipour et al., 2017).
In 2011 Balbir-Gurman et al. discovered a great connection between pomegranate extract and reduction of symptoms for those who have rheumatoid arthritis. A very small pilot study was surmising that the benefits of pomegranate are due to its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant qualities.
The conclusion suggested adding pomegranate to one's diet. Food can offer such simple and elegant solutions.
