Happy Passover: My Prayer for Peace
A few years ago I wrote about the Wild Story of Passover, freeing a body of people from slavery, with crazy twists and turns, and with some intense violent acts.
I am not sure why so far in humanity's history we cannot communicate, negotiate, and agree to peace. How did we arrive to a place of consciousness where it is difficult to acknowledge the worthiness of every human being? The right for freedom to govern ourselves?
I have so many questions about the ability, or more accurately, the inability, of world leaders and governments to bring about a peaceful world. It is the scientist in me that wants to discover this obvious gap between what people really want - freedom, the ability to live well and enjoy life, a sense of dignity and worthiness - and the reality we have collectively created, filled with inequality, injustice, wars and rumors of wars, of violence and greed.
We have progressed, albeit slowly, and grown into societies that are working hard to build better lives for everyone. There is more awareness and we endeavor to fight injustices.
On this Passover holiday, my prayer is for everyone in the world to experience life with peace, freedom, joy.
Yours with Love
