Happy Easter: Transcendence and Love
I do love a good ending in stories that keep you guessing as to what will happen next and how will it end. I have always loved literature, the way we have told our stories, the meaning within a story at the time of creation, and the evolution of the story throughout time.
Easter is a story of transcendence and love, a lesson outside space and time. It does not belong in our harsh reality, yet it is exactly what we need in our world - love, forgiveness, and a magnificent ending to a brutal cruxifixction.
Transcending harsh realities with love is not an easy task, and yet that is the exact lesson we are taught at Easter. A lesson and a requirement.
Easter as a holiday is not only for Christians, it is meaningful for all of us when we let go of preconceived ideas of religiosity and focus instead on the task of feeding the hungry, learning to overcome our own limitations (walking on water!), and most of all, loving the stranger, and forgiving those who transgressed against us.
Easter requires us to dedicate ourselves to each other, to transcend our own beliefs in us against them and build a life centered upon kindness, compassion, and giving.
Happy Easter!
Yours as Always,
Dohrea
