Effects of Beta Glucans on Fatigue, Vigor, and Mood. 2025 Systemic Review
Muroya et al. (2025) conducted a systemic review on 16 randomized controlled trials to investigate how beta glucans and affect fatigue, vigor, and yes, mood. A total of 1449 participants were included and the results were significant.
Sources of β-glucans extracted from oats, yeast, mushrooms, barley. Both oat and other forms of β-glucans show significant results: reduced fatigue, increased vigor, and shifted a low mood to an improved mood.
The team has a good literature review which highlights all the different conditions that beta glucans can affect, including of course heart, gut, and brain.
