Together, let’s put an end to deteriorating health

Honoring Our Nation, Community, Family

Memorial Day brings many memories to those who served our country, and we, as a community within this nation, honor and love our brothers and sisters who have given so much of their lives for us.

Peace and war is a tricky subject. I know - It is my field. A holiday that meant to honor those who have fought for our freedom is fraught with conflicts of intention. Many questions are asked about wars fought not on our land but other countries' lands, and whether going to certain wars was a wise strategic move.

All wars are analyzed in this way within the academic world, yet, when family members or friends, neighbors, or colleagues do fight in wars, we feel the consequences, it is closer to home. Soldiers come home suffering physical, mental, and emotional wounds, and it takes a long time to heal, the road is long and arduous for everyone.

My commitment is to peace and that is what Mature Peace will be doing - researching the commitment of our leaders to peace.

Wars are costly on too many levels. From lives to finances, there is no end to the costs of wars, and they are at this point in time happening everywhere in our world. Take a look at this 2025 map of conflicts and wars and life lost.

Memorial Day is a day of honor and reflection: What would we like to happen in our world? What can we do? Let's not get frustration and blame 'the Other' - war and peace is a systemic phenomena that involves too many players to simplify and generalize. It is a globe wide attitude and acceptance. Which means change has to also be on a global level. The question is how?

Stay tuned to Mature Peace website coming up this late summer. I am excited!

With Love and Honor.

Yours
