Chromium Studies: Increase Bone Density, Decrease Inflammation, Balance Blood Sugar
There is much to say about Chromium.
Research has already shown many benefits with blood sugar regulation, weight loss, and mood enhancement. Recently, different conditions are being looked at with animal and human studies.
As usual, the more we study food and the seemingly infinite amount of nutrients we continue to discover, the more we are at awe at its healing power.
Animal studies are showing that Bone Density is found to increase (Zheng et al. (2024), and significantly. In humans studies, several important inflammatory markers were examined, such as C - reactive protein (CRP), tumor necrosis actor-alpha (TNF-a), and interleukin-6 (IL-6). Chromium significantly lowered CRP and TNF-a. More studies are necessary with IL-6 as too many variables interfered with the results (Gholami et al., 2024).
Which type of chromium is best for managing blood sugar levels? Picolinate (CRPic), chromium yeast and chromium chloride (CrCI3) according to Georgaki et al. (2024), while other chromiums also had a say with glycemic control markers and lipid profiles.
